A Message from The Vampire
Via Sara Jane
Night, the time of day when the sun goes down and the stars and moon become visible in the sky
A magical time when creatures that fear the light come out to feed and play
The wisest of creatures, the Owl, is nocturnal.
As you require sunshine to be healthy, so you also require dark for a truly healthy sleep.
Every creature learns to adapt to their surroundings, the light and dark, the warmth and cold, the availability of food and water, the proximity of predators; whether to be a loner, a small family group or part of a large herd.
When darkness falls the creatures of the day fall silent and the creatures of the night stir from their daytime slumber.
Just because you have difficulty seeing at night does not mean it is not safe for you
Learn to use all your senses and trust your feelings. Let go of your mind’s fears and open your eyes and ears to the beauty of the night.
Find an open space, free from human made light pollution. Allow yourself to gaze up at the sky and see thousands of stars and planets, the Milky Way, the moon. If there is light cloud, watch as it passes over the moon and see the ring/hallow around the moon.
Be still and silent; listen to the sounds of the night. The wind still rustles the leaves on the trees, the streams and rivers still tumble over rocks and boulders, waves still lap on the shore and flowers still share their perfume.
Insects, rodents, foxes, badgers, owls, bats and many more creatures come out to forage for food and enjoy the safety darkness offers them.
Fear not the night; instead get to know it, let yourself experience it, learn to appreciate it.
The dark is as much a gift as the sun and rain. The night holds its own beauty, let go of your fear, we are protecting you, we are your friends.
Wishing you starry nights and sun filled days
Your Forever Friend
The Vampire
