Play
Via Sara Jane
When was the last time you had a Play Day?
When was the last time you let the child within you have some fun?
When was the last time you “let your hair down”, did what you felt like doing and didn’t care what anyone else thought?
What is Play?
Play is having fun, doing what makes you happy, what makes your heart sing, what makes you laugh and brings you joy.
Play is different for everyone; games with friends, a jamming session with friends round a campfire, paddling and splashing in the sea, a night out to watch a show, a play, a movie, a band or a comedian, a pamper day of swimming, sauna and massage.
Play helps you to relax, forget the mundane of life, the stresses and strains, and helps you to re-charge your batteries. Having regular Play Days with friends and/or family helps you in so many ways:-
- Your friendships and relationships grow stronger
- You become more relaxed
- “Problems” seem to decrease in size (they will still be the same, it is just that your perception will change, helping you to put things in more perspective).
- You become happier
- Your energy levels will increase
- Your love of life and all around you will be enhanced
- You “Feel” better
- Your health improves
All this because you give yourself permission to Play and Play regularly; Start NOW, go and talk to your family, contact your friends and arrange your first Play Day for within the next 7 days.
There is no time like the Present; let this idea capture your imagination; it doesn’t have to cost anything, there is so much you can do for free. Take a picnic, have a Bar-B-Que and everyone brings their own food to cook. Get out the swimsuits, hiking boots, drums, whatever is speaking to you and have some fun.
Do some of the things you liked to do as a child or always wanted to do; let your imagination and heart guide you.
If you have children listen to them and then join in. You are all children at heart; it is just that the mundane of life has got in the way. It is time to get back in touch with your Inner Child.
