The Dragons

Via Sara Jane

I am sure many of you have heard the saying about “Slaying the Dragon” but what does that mean, what is the Dragon?

Is it that part of you that tells the truth to you, truths that you wish not to hear?

Is it that part of you that encourages you, when it should be warning you? Warning you, when it should be encouraging you?

What aspect of you is the Dragon and does the Dragon require “slaying” or does the Dragon require befriending, listening too, understanding?

Maybe the Dragon within you is the one that is telling you the truths you really don’t wish to hear.

Those truths that are difficult to listen to, to hear, to cope with, to put up with, to be honest about.

It is about being honest with yourself.

Until you can be honest with yourself, how are you ever going to trust anybody else and how can you expect others to trust you?

You have to learn to trust You and that does mean listening to some of the tough truths about your behaviour, your words, your actions, maybe other things within your life.

Trust yourself, believe in yourself, like yourself and when you befriend this side of you, you will become more comfortable with yourself because you aren’t trying to hide anything, mostly from yourself.

You start to listen to your heart, to your gut, to your inspiration, your intuition. You start acting from integrity and authenticity.

So the Dragon isn’t something to slay, it is your friend. It is a true friend, a friend who can bring you tough love.

What are you not admitting to yourself, about yourself, about your life, about your interactions with others?

What are you not admitting about behaviours that are uncomfortable, whatever that might be, whatever that may mean to you. If it is a behaviour you are “using” to keep others happy but makes you feel uncomfortable.

Forgive yourself but be true to yourself.

There are so many different things in your life that may be feeling off kilter at the moment. Ask yourself Why?

What is the feeling they are causing within you and is it time to listen to that and to adjust your behaviour, your words, your thoughts, your deeds, to be truer to yourself. More authentic to the person you truly are deep down.

Don’t slay the Dragon. befriend the Dragon because the Dragon is your friend.

And remember you all have Guardian Dragons, each and every one of you, without exception and you are your Dragon’s treasure and as uncomfortable as the Dragon’s honesty as with you maybe at times, it is honesty out of love and caring.

Be true to yourself, today and aways.
